2 papers were done today, left with Java, Management & Econometrics, the 3 most fear subjects.

Leave alone the sleepless nights, where once again i'm turning into a vampire, sleep during the days and turned myself into a zombie during exams. Today i had another terrible time as my nose was like a leaking pipe...

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 – At 3.35pm yesterday, a small but highly trafficked section of Kuala Lumpur came to a screeching freeze. The phenomenon occurred at the Pavilion mall in Jalan Bukit Bintang and lasted approximately 5 minutes.

A fashion show at the mall's ground floor atrium had just concluded when suddenly, an estimated 1,000 people who had gathered to watch the show ceased to move, sending the rest into confusion.

The mall's patrolling security guards were equally bewildered by the sudden non-movement and were observed to be at a loss on what to do. They kept running back and forth and speaking into their walkie-talkies but made no move to question any of the petrified crowd.

But the game was revealed minutes later when the crowd “unfroze” and burst into loud cheers and applause. It seemed that Kuala Lumpur – this part at least – had just taken part in a social trend that is fast sweeping the planet: the global freeze.

While it is not clear if this is the first such initiative in Kuala Lumpur (an earlier post on YouTube.com shows a similar event taking place in KLCC on March 30 this year), it is quite possibly the biggest at 1,000 people, at the least. The person behind this particular event had taken great pains to organise this random get-together among absolute strangers.

One of the participants, broadcast executive Terry Ong, 27, said he had learnt about the gathering through Facebook.

“I got the first invite about 2 weeks ago but ignored it at first. But more and more people kept sending it to me so I finally accepted it. I'd known about the Grand Central Station Freeze (in New York) and the Trafalgar Square Freeze (in London) and thought it was a great idea and a fun thing to do and I wanted to be in on it,” he recounted.

What appealed to him was the idea behind the gathering. It was not politically-driven.

“The idea behind the event is that it's not a political statement but a social statement, that people of different ethnicities, different classes across a wide section of society could get together to do this. After the event, there were random groups of people coming up to you and talking to you. There was a sense of camaraderie, that cheer of support; even though what we did was nothing but freeze, we did it together!”
